On September 17th, during the third regular meeting of the 9th Council of the China Textile Machinery Association, the 2025 Annual Conference of the Chemical Fiber Machinery Branch of the China Textile Machinery Association was successfully held in Aksu, Xinjiang. Vice President Hou Xi of the China Textile Machinery Association and Vice President Lu Jiabin of the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, along with industry leaders and representatives from upstream and downstream enterprises and institutions related to chemical fiber machinery, attended the meeting. The meeting focused on exchanges and discussions on aspects such as new fiber materials and industry operation conditions.

Lü Jiabin, the vice president of the China Chemical Fibre Industry Association, analyzed the current situation and development trends of the chemical fibre industry. Currently, the industry has achieved steady development in terms of industrial scale, technological innovation, industrial structure, and green and low-carbon aspects. The high-performance fibre industry has seen continuous technological progress, a wide range of product varieties, stable export growth, a continuous decline in import dependence, and an increasing international competitiveness. The bio-based chemical fibre industry has continued to expand in scale, with a continuously enriched product system. In particular, lyocell fibre and polylactic acid fibre have seen significant technological progress and have entered the stage of market application. Additionally, the report elaborated on the production processes, product performance, application fields, industrial chain layout, and market operation of these two types of fibres, as well as the challenges and future development trends they currently face. Dr. Hu Zexu from the School of Mechanical Engineering at Donghua University delivered a report titled "Polyamide Fibre Forming Processes and Equipment". The report first introduced the development history of polyamide fibres, their performance and application fields, and their wide application in civil, military, aerospace, and other fields. Then, it analyzed their thermal properties, chemical properties, moisture absorption and dyeing properties, and their corresponding advantages and disadvantages. Subsequently, the report focused on the forming processes and equipment of polyamide fibres, compared the spinning processes of PA6 and PA66, analyzed the reasons why they are difficult to achieve melt direct spinning, and introduced the preparation steps before spinning, such as removing monomers and drying. At the same time, it also explained the process characteristics and equipment differences of POY, FDY, and industrial yarn, mentioned the research breakthroughs and related application achievements in the structure and mechanical properties of industrial yarn, and discussed the challenges and future development trends of these two types of fibres. In the summary and outlook section, the report summarized the polyamide fibre family and its applications, as well as the difficulties in melt direct spinning. The China Textile Machinery Association Ren Jie introduced the second (2022-2025) work situation of the Chemical Fibre Machinery Branch, covering industry work, member daily work, the economic operation of chemical fibre machinery, and the work plan for the next year. In the industry work field, the branch has achieved remarkable results, completed the appraisal of 34 scientific and technological achievements, and completed the revision of 8 standards; the daily service work of members has been steadily advanced, with 25 member enterprises added during the term, professional credit certificates issued for chemical fibre enterprises, the establishment of an information system for the textile machinery industry, and the preparation of 4 economic operation analysis reports each year. At the same time, it organized enterprises to study in Japan and participate in exhibitions. The economic operation of chemical fibre machinery shows differentiated characteristics, with the long filament equipment, combing machines, and polyester short fibre equipment markets performing differently. The demand for high-end equipment has increased, and domestic equipment upgrades and energy-saving renovations are the main focus in the Southeast Asia region due to the transfer of the industrial chain. The next year's plan focuses on four directions, including organizing enterprises to participate in overseas exhibitions, promoting standard formulation, conducting scientific and technological appraisal, and continuously releasing industry economic operation analysis reports. Ye He of the China Textile Machinery Association interpreted the proposed key research and promotion projects for the chemical fibre machinery industry during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period. During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the chemical fibre machinery industry will focus on intelligent upgrading, green transformation, and differentiated equipment. Through questionnaire surveys, on-site visits, and research, a total of 19 key research projects were systematically sorted out, focusing on synthetic fibre equipment, green fibre equipment, high-performance fibre equipment and its components, and conducting key research in these areas, and setting the development goals for 2030. In addition, there are 10 promotion projects. Subsequently, based on feedback, the projects will be modified, added, adjusted, merged, and deleted to further optimize the overall development layout of the industry. During the meeting discussion, the participating representatives exchanged views on the highlights of the "14th Five-Year Plan" achievements, the development direction of the industry and enterprises during the "15th Five-Year Plan", and other contents. When it comes to the technological innovation in chemical fiber machinery, Hou Xi stated, "During the '14th Five-Year Plan' period, there were two landmark achievements in the chemical fiber machinery field that provided crucial support for the development of the textile machinery industry. Firstly, large-capacity equipment for producing lyocell short fibers was successfully domesticated, breaking the monopoly. Secondly, the research and development of large-scale carbon fiber production and its automated processing equipment promoted the industrial application of domestic equipment in this field. Currently, the digital transformation of the chemical fiber industry has entered a critical stage. The overall digital solutions launched by suppliers have been slow to be implemented in user enterprises. During the '15th Five-Year Plan' period, the industry will focus on promoting the implementation of digital and intelligent system solutions at the workshop level for chemical fiber machinery, launching automated solutions for processes such as spinning, drawing, and feeding in chemical fiber production, and tackling key single machines and basic components for high-speed and precise winding equipment, to enhance the overall competitiveness of China's chemical fiber machinery. During the meeting, the Chemical Fiber Machinery Branch organized relevant personnel to visit the textile industrial parks in Alar and Aksu in Xinjiang, and conduct enterprise visits and exchange activities. Through on-site visits, they gained a deep understanding of the production operation status, technical application situations, and future development plans of enterprises in the two parks.
