What is Water Jet Loom?

Water jet loom, a shuttleless loom that uses a high-pressure stream of water to draw the weft yarn through the bobbin opening. The water jet loom uses a jet of water to provide greater frictional traction on the weft yarns and less diffusion, which is particularly suitable for the needs of smooth surface synthetic fibers, glass fibers, and other filament weft leading. It also increases the conductivity of synthetic fibers, effectively overcoming static problems in weaving, while having low energy consumption and noise.

WL822 Economic Water Jat Loom

1

High-speed performance: water jet looms are able to run at higher speeds than conventional looms, thus increasing productivity.

2

Low noise: The use of water as the weft draw-in medium, instead of the traditional reed, makes water jet looms quieter in operation.

3

Low vibration: Water jet looms are designed to minimize vibration, providing smooth and stable operation.

4

Ease of maintenance: By eliminating the use of reeds, water jet looms reduce wear and tear and maintenance frequency and costs.

5

Improved quality: Water jet looms produce higher quality fabrics with fewer defects, providing more consistent weaving results.

6

Versatility: Waterjet looms are capable of weaving many types of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, and nylon.

7

Energy efficiency: Water jet looms are more energy efficient than conventional looms.

8

Adaptability: The water jet loom is particularly suitable for weaving smooth surface synthetic fibers, glass fibers, and other filament materials while increasing the conductive properties of synthetic fibers, effectively overcoming the problem of static electricity in weaving.

Water Jet Loom Application
1. Synthetic fiber production:

Water-jet weaving machines are particularly suitable for the production of synthetic fibers because these fibers are usually hydrophobic, matching the way water-jet weaving machines use high-pressure water jets to draw the weft.

2. Light and medium-weight fabrics:

Water-jet weaving machines are suitable for the production of light and medium-weight fabrics, which often have standard characteristics.

3. High-speed production:

Water-jet looms have high insertion performance and low energy consumption, and can reach select speeds of up to 2,000 meters per minute, giving them an advantage in high-speed production.

4. Production of high-quality fabrics:

Waterjet looms are capable of producing high-quality fabrics with an excellent look and feel.

5. Non-absorbent fibers:

The use of water jet looms is usually restricted to non-absorbent filament fibers such as acetate, nylon, polyester, and glass fibers.

Water Jet Loom Products FAQ

Q: What are the advantages and disadvantages of water jet loom compared to traditional looms?

A: Advantages:
High speed production: Water jet looms can weave at extremely high speeds, providing over 10% higher high-speed performance than traditional looms.
Low noise: Using water as a medium instead of traditional reeds makes the water jet loom quieter during operation.
Low vibration: The design of the water jet loom reduces vibration, providing smooth and stable operation.
Easy to maintain: Due to the absence of reed blades, the water jet loom reduces wear and tear, with lower maintenance requirements and lower costs.
High quality products: able to produce higher quality fabrics, reduce defects, and provide more consistent weaving quality.
High efficiency: The water jet loom has a high weft insertion performance and can produce high-quality fabrics with excellent appearance and feel.
Energy saving: Water jet looms have lower energy consumption compared to traditional looms, with a 5% reduction in electrical consumption.
Wide adaptability: The water jet loom can adapt to the weaving needs of special specifications of fabrics such as ultra-fine yarn to coarse yarn, narrow width to wide width, and from general fabrics to double-layer fabrics.
Inferiority:
Water quality requirements: Using hard water may cause the yarn to rust.
Applicability limitations: Water jet looms are not suitable for hydrophilic fibers such as cotton yarn, as these fibers absorb excessive moisture during the weaving process.
Maintenance cost: Although the maintenance frequency is low, the maintenance cost of the water jet loom may be high, especially requiring regular cleaning and replacement of parts to prevent blockage of the water stop system.

Q: What are the specific requirements for water quality in the production process of water jet looms?

A: Water jet looms have specific requirements for water quality during the production process to ensure weaving efficiency and product quality. According to relevant standards and practices, the following are some specific water quality requirements:
1. Cleanliness: The water quality needs to be kept clean to avoid excessive suspended solids or sediment, which may clog the nozzle or affect the quality of the yarn.
2. Hardness: The hardness of water should be moderate, as hard water may cause yarn rust, especially when using a water jet loom.
3. pH value: A suitable pH range helps prevent yarn damage and corrosion of loom components.
4. Temperature: The water temperature needs to be controlled within a certain range, as too high or too low water temperature may affect the weaving performance of the yarn.
5. Chemical treatment: In some cases, it may be necessary to chemically treat water, such as adding antimicrobial agents to prevent bacterial growth, or using softeners to reduce hardness ions in the water.
6. Regular monitoring: It is necessary to regularly monitor water quality to ensure that it meets the requirements of the production process and promptly address water quality issues.
