The rapier loom is a weft inserter composed of a flexible or rigid rapier and a rapier. The rapier holds the weft and transfers the weft in the shed for weft insertion. Since the knotted yarn is held by the rapier during weft insertion, the weft insertion is stable and reliable, and the loom runs smoothly. The color selection performance of the weft yarn of the rapier loom is good, the number of knots can be selected up to 16 colors, and the replacement of varieties is simple and convenient. Its biggest feature is that the loom has a wide variety of adaptability, and can use yarns of various raw materials to weave various types of fabrics, especially suitable for small batches and multi-variety fabric production.


The rapier loom is mainly composed of frame, main transmission system, opening mechanism, weft insertion mechanism, weft beating mechanism, warp delivery mechanism, winding mechanism, weft yarn supply mechanism, selvage mechanism, automatic weft finding mechanism, weft selection mechanism, lubrication system, and control system.


The main structure and features of the rapier loom are as follows:

1. The opening mechanism includes passive dobby device, positive dobby device, cam (pedal) opening mechanism, jacquard opening mechanism, and so on. The installation method of the dobby is lower or upper, and the number of heald frames is up to 20-24 pages.

2. The main drive system generally uses the main motor to drive each mechanism through the electromagnetic brake clutch. The electromagnetic brake ionizer is controlled by the electric control system, which can accurately realize the functions of starting, jogging, positioning, and parking of the loom. Some looms use variable speed motors such as switched reluctance motors, variable reluctance motors, non-cut DC motors, variable frequency motors, etc. to directly drive various mechanisms.

3. The transmission mode of weft insertion generally adopts a common cam, eccentric connecting rod, space curved tree connecting rod, space screw, and so on. The sword drives Cheng Chuan to tune.

4. Weft insertion method Most of the models use double-sided flexible rapier belts and central transfer knots. There is also individual use of rigid rapier in the fire handover. Very few single-sided rapiers (rods) directly pass through the entire shuttle 1 for weft insertion.

5. The yarn knot supply adopts an independent simple creel and electronic knot storage device to realize the continuous and constant tension unwinding of the knot yarn package.

6. The weft yarn color selection adopts the electric knot selector, microcomputer control, and up to 16 color knot yarns. There are also mechanical knot selectors.

7. Most of the knotting mechanisms use conjugate cam knotting mechanisms, and a small number of looms use non-separable four-link or six-link knotting mechanisms.

8. The let-off mechanism adopts a mechanical let-off mechanism or electronic let-off mechanism.

9. The coiling mechanism adopts a mechanical coiling mechanism or electronic coiling mechanism.

10. Weft density adjustment The common range of knot density is 20-1500 knots/0cm. There are two ways of mechanical let-off mechanism: mechanical stepless tightness adjuster and adjustment of tightness with exchange gears. The weft density adjustment of the electronic let-off and electronic winding looms can change the weft density parameters by changing the rotation angle of each weft winding motor through the operation panel.

11. The selvage device generally adopts a leno hemming device, and it can also be equipped with a folding edge, a hot-melt edge, and an electronic edge weaving mechanism.
