The initial processing of cotton is often referred to as ginning or ginning. Usually, the percentage of cotton wool obtained by ginning 50kg of seed cotton is referred to as the seeding rate of the seed cotton, also known as the lint production rate, and the clothing fraction is generally 31% to 42%.
The basic requirements for ginning are as follows:
(1) The original quality of the protective fiber. The natural characteristics and length, ability, maturity, color and so on of cotton fiber determine the corresponding spinning value. Therefore, seed cotton of different varieties, different grades and different lengths cannot be mixed and processed. When ginning, it is necessary to minimize the breakage of the fibers, the crushing of the cottonseed and the large amount of the cotton linters into the lint, especially to prevent the occurrence of defects such as neps.
(2) Remove impurities from the fibers.
(3) Packing and batching according to different varieties and grades.
