On August 27th, the 2025 annual meeting of the Spinning Machinery Branch of the China Textile Machinery Association was held in Yibin, Sichuan Province. The president of the China Textile Machinery Association, Gu Ping, and vice president Zhao Xiaogang, along with over a hundred representatives from member enterprises of the Spinning Machinery Branch, attended this meeting.
The morning meeting was chaired by Zhang Wenxin, the Party Secretary, Director and General Manager of Qingdao Haodong Textile Machinery Co., Ltd. The meeting focused on the macro environment of the industry, the progress of technological innovation, and market dynamics.
Gu Ping delivered a speech focusing on the development trends of the textile industry and textile machinery. He pointed out that in the current context of fragmented international economic and trade and sluggish economic growth, the Chinese textile industry indeed faces severe challenges. In the first half of 2025, due to the continuous impact of the "trade war", many textile and garment enterprises were under pressure in terms of performance, and some enterprises experienced a significant decline in net profits or even suffered losses. However, in the overall downward trend, a number of enterprises achieved逆势growth through innovation and proactive transformation. The textile industry demonstrated strong resilience, which was attributed to China's complete industrial system, international layout advantages, and the continuous investment of enterprises in intelligent transformation, green and low-carbon transition, and market diversification expansion.
He emphasized that the textile machinery industry has achieved a dual leap in both quality and quantity in recent years. In terms of quality, it has made a transition from single-machine automation to system intelligence, and from a single equipment supplier to an overall solution service provider. In terms of quantity, since 2019, China's textile machinery output has consistently ranked first globally, and its exports have maintained double-digit high growth rates.
It is reported that the total import and export volume of textile machinery in the first half of the year reached 4.221 billion US dollars, increasing by 29% year-on-year. Among them, the import was 1.340 billion US dollars, growing by 21.85%; the export was 2.881 billion US dollars, increasing by 32.62%. The trade structure has been continuously optimized. Moreover, the recent industrial support policies introduced in regions such as Xinjiang have provided solid support and new growth space for the demand for textile machinery.
As an industry intelligent benchmark, the spinning intelligent line has provided a demonstration path for the upgrading of traditional industries. Currently, the development of the industry relies on two major driving methods: in the traditional upgrade process, it is guided by import substitution and achieves technology integration into the global industrial chain through demand-driven approaches; in the fields of emerging technologies and future industries, it relies on scenario applications to break through and cope with the uncertainty of technical routes.
Facing the more complex environment during the "15th-17th" period, he pointed out that in the future, the textile industry must focus on self-reliance and strength in technology as its core, continuously improve the R&D system, and concentrate on key technological breakthroughs in advanced materials and high-end equipment. The continuously innovative textile machinery equipment and technologies will surely provide lasting impetus and upgrading engines for the high-quality development of the industry.
Zhao Xiaogang presented an overview of the operation of the spinning machinery industry in the first half of 2025, the market distribution of ring spinning, rotor spinning and vortex spinning, as well as the preparations for the international spinning machinery exhibition.
From 2016 to June 2025, the import and export of main components of spinning machinery showed significant fluctuations, while the import and export of auxiliary devices and spare parts for spinning remained generally stable. In the first half of this year, the industry as a whole showed a slow recovery trend. Except for rotor spinning machines, the production and sales of most main equipment achieved different degrees of growth. The domestic market was in line with the industry trend. The export market showed signs of recovery in the second quarter, with a 18.1%环比 growth. Exports to Pakistan increased by 105.3% year-on-year, but the overall performance was weak. He pointed out that overseas market demand is unlikely to improve in the short term, and domestic demand remains an important support. Especially the new and technological renovation projects in Xinjiang and the central and western regions effectively stimulated domestic sales growth. He suggested that domestic enterprises should continue to enhance their international competitiveness and product adaptability. Under the current new situation, they should carefully study and review their overseas market layout and actively seize market opportunities in high-end equipment in sub-sectors such as wool spinning.
From the perspective of market distribution, in 2024, the global stock of ring spinning machines was approximately 238 million spindles, with China accounting for 37%; the global delivery volume was 5.92 million spindles, with China accounting for 64.7%; China's exports were approximately 150,000 spindles, with overseas sales accounting for only 7.2%. The global stock of rotor spinning machines was 10.34 million units, with China accounting for 46.9%; the global delivery volume was 623,000 units, with China accounting for 72.7%; China's exports were approximately 97,000 units, with overseas sales accounting for 57.1%. The global stock of jet vortex spinning machines was approximately 637,000 units in 2023, with China accounting for 58.2%; in 2024, China imported approximately 72,000 units, an increase of 28.6%. Xinjiang, as the core market in China, absorbed 41.3% of the domestic sales of ring spinning machines and 39.5% of the sales of rotor spinning machines in the first half of 2025.
Finally, he introduced the situation of the International Textile Machinery Exhibition: The 2024 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia Exhibition was successfully held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), attracting 1,700 exhibitors and over 90,000 professional visitors from home and abroad. The 2025 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia Exhibition (Singapore) will be held at the Singapore Exhibition and Convention Center from October 28th to 31st this year. The registration for the 2026 China International Textile Machinery Exhibition and ITMA Asia Exhibition has already started and will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) from November 20th to 24th next year.
Yuan Jianchun, the deputy general manager of Yibin Yashide Textile Co., Ltd., while introducing the company's green and intelligent development practices and production capacity planning, combined with the experience of multiple projects, put forward specific demands for domestic textile machinery in terms of high efficiency and stability, data mining, and specialized component upgrades, and expounded on the future path of digitalization and green transformation.
Regarding the issues of high speed and high output, he stated that the company has introduced advanced international electro-spun equipment from companies like Murata in Japan and Lida in Switzerland, as well as domestic advanced tight-spinning equipment. Domestic equipment has made significant progress in terms of digitalization and intelligence, but it still needs to continue to focus on achieving "efficiency and stability". Regarding specialized equipment, he said that although domestic specialized equipment can meet production needs, some key equipment still has a gap compared to international standards. He suggested strengthening research on material development and life extension.
Regarding the data issue, he mentioned that the company is promoting the construction of a digital factory and has already applied systems such as MES and ERP. However, at present, it is still mostly at the level of single-machine data collection and has not yet developed a deep analysis capability. He suggested that textile machinery enterprises develop data analysis models for production, to help enterprises make full use of single-machine data and gradually achieve full-process collaboration.
He also suggested that textile machinery enterprises should pay more attention to the specific market demands. For instance, they should optimize the equipment process adaptability for recycled cellulose fibers, develop dedicated modules to solve problems such as discontinuous blending and high labor costs; at the same time, they should introduce differentiated configuration plans to provide high-quality and cost-effective solutions for small and medium-sized textile enterprises, and customize high-end solutions for large enterprises. Moreover, he hopes to enhance the universality of specialized components for different models, promote standardization, and reduce the adaptation costs.Zhang Lei, the deputy general manager of Yibin Hongqu Industry Co., Ltd., shared the company's practical explorations in intelligent manufacturing and green transformation. At the same time, he also elaborated on the new requirements for domestic textile machinery that the high-end sewing thread enterprises' pursuit of high-quality development brings.
Regarding the issue of high output and high speed, he pointed out that in recent years, domestic spinning equipment has made significant progress in increasing speed. However, enterprises should not blindly pursue "speed competitions", but should focus on solving the pain points in actual production while maintaining the current high-speed level. In terms of specialized components and equipment, he stated that currently, the core specialized components still need to achieve breakthrough progress. Especially in high-speed and high-load operating environments, their lifespan and stability still need to be improved.
In terms of data application, he pointed out that although many enterprises have widely adopted information platforms, most are still at the stage of data collection and display, and have not yet achieved true data intelligent analysis and closed-loop control. He suggested that textile machinery enterprises should not only provide single-machine equipment, but also develop lightweight data analysis tools or process optimization models to help enterprises truly utilize the existing data for quality improvement, energy saving, and optimization of production scheduling.
He stated that textile machinery enterprises should further promote product modularization and configuration differentiation, and be able to provide flexible solutions of "basic platform + functional options" based on the specific needs such as the types of raw materials and product structure of the customers.
